The 180-year history of CES spans seven generations. Over this time the company has accumulated a wealth of experience and have time and again advanced the locking industry with visionary decisions and pioneering innovations.
Independence and consistency of family ownership since 1840 has established trust in CES’ long-term strategy. The headquarters have been situated in Velbert, Germany since the company’s inception. CES now employs over 400 staff worldwide across sites in Holland, France, Romania and the Middle East (Dubai) as well as being represented by partner companies in Europe, the Arab region, Asia and the USA.
Here in the UK, we have been established since 2009 as CES Security Solutions Limited.
We are a full member of the GAI and the MLA.

Mario Del-Signore has worked in the locking industry and specifically within master key systems for over 30 years. His commitment to the industry and his leadership career in ironmongery has been recognised by the GAI. He was appointed as President of the Guild in 2021.
Peter Schmidt is an intrinsic part of the team at CES UK. He has now worked for CES for over 38 years in total, the last 6 of which have been spent here with us, meticulously planning the hierarchy for the master key systems which leave our workshop as well as overseeing all technical queries.
Dan Rising has worked in architectural ironmongery and more specifically, locking systems, for over 20 years. RegAI qualified, he has been supporting clients with product selection and advising them on how to appropriately secure buildings including universities, hotels, sports stadia and government departments, to name but a few.
