The 180-year history of CES spans seven generations. Over this time the company has accumulated a wealth of experience and have time and again advanced the locking industry with visionary decisions and pioneering innovations.
Independence and consistency of family ownership since 1840 has established trust in CES’ long-term strategy. Our customers value the continuity, security and reliability we offer, assured that they will be able to obtain replacement cylinders and keys for their locking systems years and years after installation.
The headquarters have been situated in Velbert, Germany since the company’s inception. CES now employs over 400 staff worldwide across sites in Holland, France, Romania and the Middle East (Dubai) as well as being represented by partner companies in Europe, the Arab region, Asia and the USA.
Here in the UK, we have been established since 2009 as CES Security Solutions Limited.
We are a full member of the GAI and an affiliate member of the MLA.
We work in collaboration with architects, design teams and the end-user, as early in the process as possible, to plan a locking system specific to your project.

Mario founded CES UK in 2009, and brings over 38 years of experience in the architectural ironmongery industry. With 25 years specialising in master key systems, he is recognised as a leading authority in security solutions for architectural applications. A committed advocate for professional standards, Mario has held senior positions within the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers, including President, and was awarded a Fellowship in 2019 for his outstanding service. Today, he continues to support the Guild as an Executive Board member while leading national sales strategy at CES.
As our National Sales Manager, Dan is responsible for overseeing CES UK’s sales operations across the entire country. Dan has worked in architectural ironmongery and more specifically, locking systems, for over 20 years, and has knowledge of working for both Architectural Ironmongers, and manufacturers. RegAI qualified, Dan has been supporting our clients across the UK and Ireland with product selection and advising them on how to appropriately secure buildings including universities, hotels, sports stadia and government departments, to name but a few.
With over 40 years in the industry, David has worked across the UK and Europe specifying architectural ironmongery, locking systems, and door sets (timber and steel). His portfolio includes involvement in major projects, covering sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Hospitality, Shared Living, Justice Centres, Defence, and Custodial environments. As Business Development Manager for CES UK, David covers the South of England, from the West Midlands and Wales to the South and West Coast.
Sue Colley has been in the locking industry for 35 years, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team. After years of learning the trade and supporting both AIs and locksmiths, her specialism lies in master key system planning. Honing her aptitude for mathematics to structure the most complex of master key schedules, Sue plays a pivotal role in the designing of new, and extensions to existing, master key systems for buildings across all sectors.
Rachael brings over 20 years of customer service experience to her role as Supply Chain Manager at CES. Although new to the industry, she quickly applies her extensive background to support clients and enhance service delivery. Rachael has a strong track record in resolving customer issues, building relationships, and streamlining processes. Her commitment to customer satisfaction and loyalty ensures every interaction is handled with care, professionalism, and efficiency.
Hannah joined CES Security as Finance Manager, bringing with her over 13 years of experience in the finance industry. With a strong background in financial management and a keen eye for detail, she plays a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth and success.
