Everything we do is done in-house. From cutting extrusion to applying special finishes, to pinning the locks themselves. Because of this, we can accommodate orders for standard products in our most popular finishes, for despatch within just 48 hours. We call this our Fast Finish Line.

A finished, plated lock which perfectly matches the door’s furniture and other design features can be a beautiful thing, but a plated door lock that is fully tested and remains highly durable, is another entirely. Tolerances of coatings must be extremely low to ensure they do not hinder the performance of the lock.
Testing, and attention to the highest levels of detail and quality are a core part of CES’ 182 year history. Which is why, from the beginning, CES has had its own surface engineering department where we now use chemical and electrochemical processes to deliver plated products to our high standards of precision, ensuring the accuracy required for the security and durability provided by our products is retained.
With over 50 electroplated finishes applied in-house, we don’t compromise on quality or standards to accommodate an architect’s vision. Our cylinders and mortice locks are recognised as high-quality design elements in their own right.
Our range of available colours and finishes is constantly growing, responding to trends in door fittings and lever handles.
The aesthetic and tactile qualities of the surfaces are produced by a multi-stage paint and coating processes which we have developed in-house. It transforms the brass from which our lock cylinders are made and gives them the velvety feel of blasted aluminium.
The number, size and shape of the fine metal particles in the paint and its colour tones have been designed so that they perfectly match to the handle sets of leading manufacturers.
